The Junk Drawer

Everyone has one – that kitchen drawer where things go that have no other permanent home.  That’s what this is: a place for things that I want to keep or share with you, but don’t have a better home for on this blog.  Jumbled, uncategorized, and appearing in the order it was thrown in the drawer, this stuff is too good to throw away.

Found this one via my husband – I love the conviction of mini-Vader.

I have to admit, this brought a tear to my eye.  Glee has ruined me forever.

This is why Jimmy Kimmel is the funniest man on late night.  But possibly not the most handsome.

I haven’t been paying much attention to the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, but one thing did catch my attention at the opening ceremonies.  Canadian slam poet Shane Koyczan read his poem “We Are More,” and I was riveted by the words and his delivery.  I tried to find video of his reading at the Olympics, but it doesn’t seem to be available on line yet (the full text can be found here).  I did find this version from 2007, which appears to be a truncated version of what he read at the opening ceremonies.  It made me proud(er) to be Canadian.  What an amazing, creative force!

I first saw this site a long time ago, and just rediscovered it.  It had me at “existential angst.”  http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/

Every website in existence has this posted right now, but it’s so fantastically brilliant and fun that I had to include it, in case someone missed it:

Two comments about this: Erik thinks Animal saying “Mamamamama…Dada?” sounds like Abigail (he’s right).  And although this is great, I think Weezer’s Keep Fishin’ video gives it a run for its money.  We now plan to get Abigail all available seasons of The Muppet Show, so we can watch them:

In honour of the release of the new Twilight movie, New Moon, I give you the most perfect t-shirt ever made (brought to you courtesy of www.jinx.com):

Edward, meet Mr. Pointy.

Here’s the first offering.  If you had any My Little Pony as a child (I had a dozen or two) this is worth watching.  Actually, this is worth watching, period.  Giddyup.
